One of the new features to ship with Autodesk’s Nastran Solver 2015 is a new tool that allows the company’s stress analysis software to work inside both Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks 3D CAD software systems. Autodesk’s Nastran Solver is a finite element analysis (FEA) tool
that lets you test simulations for multiple types of materials.
Traditional CAD design workflows depend upon specialists and analysts to
test designs made by engineers. That traditional pipeline places the
stress and pressure tests of models downstream. However, more vendors
like Autodesk are pushing engineers to run these tests while designing.
This has the potential to cut costs and streamline your system by
letting you foresee structural problems before sending off designs to be
tested, approved, or returned for changes. With Autodesk Nastran
In-CAD, engineers now have the capability to run stress tests within
their own design software. For more information on Nastran In-CAD, visit
the Autodesk website.
